At DIAMOND BACK We never turn out the light!

The rubber industry standard for stain testing of white rubber is the UV Lamp. This lamp puts out ultraviolet rays many times more concentrated than the sun and produces temperatures higher than your tires would ever experience. This gives us Rapid Stain Testing (RST) capabilities.

RST allows us to not only check all incoming shipments for consistency, it also allows us to check procedures and materials to build a better product. How do you improve near perfection? It’s not easy, but we never turn out the light.

We recommend frequent cleanings.

Avoid any sealers or products such
  as Armorall. These products are
great for the black portion but not
  for the whitewall.

Castrol Super Clean is recommended
and is available at most auto parts
   stores and at Wal-Mart & K-Mart.

Use an abrasive cleaning pad. 220
-440 grit wet/dry sandpaper is best.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1  How are your tires made?

We use a process known as Vulcanization. Vulcanization is a process by which two pieces of rubber are permanently joined by temperature, time, & pressure.

White rubber has nothing to add to the strength of a tire’s sidewall - it is purely ornamental. Therefore vulcanizing the whitewall on while the whole tire is being cured, or whether it is added later makes no difference. Our system allows us to offer an infinite number of tire sizes and whitewall widths, and it also allows us to very closely monitor our quality control. Since we use only tires produced by major manufacturers, our problems with balancing, traction, irregular wear patterns, excessive weight and noise levels are virtually non existent.

2  How to care & maintain for my DiamondBack Classics?

CLEANING TIPS

One of the first things you will notice is that Diamond Back Classics are extremely easy to clean. Most white-walls turn dingy or yellow because of the leeching of chemicals (mostly anti-oxidants) into the white material. Because our process uses a butyl lining to stop chemical leeching, you only have to clean the surface dirt. We recommend frequent cleanings with an abrasive cleaning pad. A fine or medium sanding sponge works well. These are available at most hardware stores.

Any good cleaner works OK - Castrol Super Clean, 409, Simple Green, Greased Lightning - just to name a few. Avoid cleaners that contain bleach. Prolonged use of these cleaners can "dry" the whitewall surface. VIGOROUS CLEANING WILL NOT DAMAGE WHITEWALLS. Questions? Call us.

AIR PRESSURE

Modern p-metric radials are designed for higher air pressure. This reduces rolling resistance, reduces heat build-up, and improves your car's steering response. It also helps prevent damage to your whitewalls. Because of so many applications, specific air pressures cannot be recommended. A good setting for most applications is 36 psi COLD. Remember, air pressure fluctuates with temperature change - frequent pressure checks are recommended, especially when beginning a long trip.

For the street-rodders who frequently use smaller front tires and for the resto-rodders who select smaller tires to achieve that "certain look," we recommend higher air pressures. Questions? Call us.

Diamond Back Classics are too easy to
clean! Do not over-exert yourself during

the cleaning process.

3  Why Choose Radial Tires instead of Bias-Ply?

Since their introduction in 1970 radial tires have been one of the great innovations for modern vehicles. That same innovation is used for every Diamondback Classic radial tire. Radial tires offer many benefits over bias ply tires…

At Diamond Back we sell only radial tires - absolutely no bias-ply. Not only do we produce the world’s most beautiful tires, we also produce the world’s best handling, best riding, and most durable tires. Bias-ply tires simply cannot give you these qualities.

Radial tires offer these improvement

          • easier steering
          •
quicker steering response
          •
improved ride
          •
better stability
          •
less “wandering”
          •
less road shock
          • better puncture resistance

less rolling resistance
better fuel economy
better braking
improved traction
longer tread life
much safer
